Honoring Our Veterans

Veterans and their families are encouraged to purchase a veteran name plaque to be permanently installed at our Winsted Veterans Memorial pentagon court.

The plaques are available to honor any veteran, living or deceased, who served honorably on active duty, in the reserves, or the National Guard, in wartime or peacetime.

The plaques will be made of brushed stainless steel etched with the veteran’s name, branch of service, and period of service. The plaques will measure 11” x 5” and be installed upon completion of the monument.

The cost of each plaque is $150 and the proceeds go directly toward any final construction costs and the ongoing operations and maintenance of the memorial.

This memorial will extend the definition of veteran to any person who served in the U.S. military, naval, or air service, and who was discharged or released therefrom under conditions other than dishonorable.

Veterans or family members of deceased veterans may be able to confirm service information by contacting their county Veterans Service Officer.

If you wish to have plaques of several family members appear together we ask that you coordinate your submissions to make this clear in the box below. Once installed, plaques will not be moved again nor will room be made for another family member to be collocated.
